Just need to vent a second! Had three really good days carb wise and then blew it yesterday, calories were fine!. Sigh!! Hoping to get back on the horse today and this next week and maybe see the scale move. Why is it so much harder to lose a pound than it is to gain a pound!

Someone mentioned calorie deficit to lose weight, after doing some research on this I came up with the figure that I should be able to eat 2,285 calories per day to maintain my weight! So to have a calorie deficit I should eat about 300-500 less per day which would put me at about 1800-1950 calories per day! What a bunch of baloney! If I ate that many calories per day I would weigh 200 lbs. by this summer. I only eat about 1200 per day now and I maintain on that (barely)!!! Another one said I should eat about 1300 per day to maintain, which means to have a deficit I would have to cut 300-500 per day which would put me at 800-1000 calories per day......Does that sound like enough in anyone's book????? To sum all this up calories in and calories out does NOT work for me!!! Never has, never will. The only thing that has worked for me so far is low carb, unfortunately that isn't working all that well anymore. Pretty sure hormones are playing into that and I can't find anyone so far who can tell me how to change those stupid hormones messing me up.

Sure wish calories in--calories out worked for me. With running and being very active pretty much all day long you would think I would burn up what I eat, especially since I usually end up between 1200 and 1500 cal. Usually at the 1200 range. If I burn 300--500 running shouldn't my body burn most of the rest with normal every day activities....BUT NO. my body has to be stubborn and inefficient evidently. Low carb worked for year and a half and now I struggle with it. What to try next. Melinda said to increase calories to 1500 but I have a hard time doing that because I always want to eat the high carb things to add the calories in.
