I’ve been looking into sugar intake and for a woman this is supposed to be less than 25g per day. Looking at an average day I’m often closer to 30g and have been surprised by the foods pushing up my intake, such as milk and vegetables. Is naturally occurring sugar in fruit and veg okay or am I doing something very wrong? I have cut snacking from my diet, I have three fairly healthy meals a day. Has anyone else looked into sugar intake? Thanks in advance!

Thanks,Baskington. I’m not worried about having sugar in my diet, that’s a given, however what concerns me is being over the recommended daily intake just by eating “normal” foods. I wondered whether anyone else has encountered this as I didn’t think my diet was especially sweet.

I don't know if the "they" really know the recommended daily intake themselves really. They still don't know a lot about the human body. If you are not eating refined sugars and carbs, not overdoing it on high sugar fruits or fruits in general, I don't see how you can go off tract.

Thanks again, Baskington, that’s really reassuring. Seeing that 100ml of milk was 20% of the supposed sugar allowance for the day seemed crazy! Everything you read is different I suppose! I’ll carry on as I am ☺️

Download on Netflix “That sugar movie” it is a eye opener on how much sugar people eat on average in one day and what it does to your body. Highly recommend everyone to watch it.

I have never been a big fan of milk too processed for me even when I was not on a diet. I have had the real thing and the difference is amazing. so I have never been a drinker of milk. That is one thing I would limit on your diet, it is a processed food.

I liquid fast 5 days a week and have to work really-hard to keep my sugar intake down. Because like you point out, I can have milk and take in a significant amount of sugar (11 carbs), so I use Heavy Whipping Cream instead (1 carb).
