I have always loved cooking for holidays and entertaining. I loved finding new and challenging dishes to try. Unfortunately, the cycle of gaining 10 pounds each winter, and losing five each summer for the past 25 years, has gotten me to over 300 pounds.

I have tried going to the gym and counting calories and monitoring in detail the nutritional content of everything I eat, with some success. However, it is not a sustainable lifestyle. After oral surgery this past winter, I could not bite anything, only chew on my last two molars. After a month I lost 10 pounds. I then rode a wave of anxiety and stress that kept me from stretching out my stomach again by eating the same way I used to eat. After eight months, I’m hover about 30 to 35 pounds from my previous average weight.

With two thirds of my weight loss goal to go, I’m going to find some small steps to introduce exercise into my day. I now hate cooking and food.
119.7 kg Lost so far: 14.1 kg.    Still to go: 24.5 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I started with one small change a week to get me moving in the right direction. I love to bake so I get the struggle in the kitchen 😁
