First, welcome back! Second, so sorry about the loss of your dog. Even though 13 is a long life for a husky, but i know it doesn't make it any easier. it is very hard. And may the Force be with you with a new puppy. Finally, congratulations on your new house! Major accomplishment!

Thank you so much! Yes 13 is long and you know it’s never something you ever plan and everyday before I sleep I always think of his last moments and I get so sad. But wooooo man having a puppy has thrown my life in a whole whirlwind! I love her but man I think I forgot all the work it takes and being on the midnight shift and the lack of sleep man of man. But thank you so much for the kind words. I will post a picture soon of the new baby who loves to chew right now haha!

I can totally relate. I lost my canine life partner as i called her when she was 13 a few years ago and my bff is going through it now. It is so so hard. Now i got another dog, but i could never have handled another puppy! Once was enough, lol!

Jengetfit123 I know you completely understand the heartache. Again thank you so much. Prayers to your BFF having to go through this. I know I don’t know what I was thinking when I got a puppy (whom is in timeout now)

Sarah1950 oh yea indeed I definitely am, as I’m learning the hard way, she has destroyed 3 pairs of house shoes and one of my spare bedrooms is my shoe room so you know that is off limits!!!!!

KTaylor , I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. Your companion and best friend. when I had to put my dog down I couldn't even stay in the room I just was sobbing so hard. I had my daughter staying with her so she could pet her while the vet gave her the shot. I ran out of the office crying. She was my everything at the time and had gone through so many health issues with me. the loss of her was more than I could bear. she was our baby. and then to top it off you totaled your SUV. the same daughter just had two different times someone deer ran into her SUV. She's got all kinds of back issues now. sometimes life throws you a lot of lemons and it's a difficult time. we're all glad you back and we will support you whenever we see you. just hang in there this too shall pass.

Skinnyminilinni thank you for your story. Yes, I was there as well like your daughter laying on the floor with him petting him and holding him until he took his last breath. It was the hardest thing I have ever done in life. I still ask myself if I made the right decision and my mind tells me no but my heart tells me yes. Sometimes I feel so torn on what was right. I never pictured being without him. I’m thankful that I have such great memories with my chunk but I’m so selfish that I want him back every single day. So crazy your daughter and I have had such similar encounters. I will pray for her that things get better with her health issues.

Ktaylor it sounds like your baby was like my baby. We bought a new shitzu because we loved our other so much. It's not the same, but we do love the new baby. They say, time heals all wounds.
I am here for you.

Skinnyminilinny yes I would have to agree. Achilles (that was his name) was a Husky and now I have a bad German Shepherd (ok she is isn’t bad she is just teething). I see Huskies to this day and it still breaks my heart and I cry so for now I can’t have one but GSD is my second favorite. My best friend had a shiht tzu and he passed (hit by a car) she was so devastated that she got another now. That’s her favorite breed. I read this thing once that said: The reason why dogs don’t live as long as humans is because they enter this world honest and loyal and it takes humans a lifetime to learn to be honest and loyal.
