Ok, had my first post-op and the periodontist is quite happy with the work...still not allowed to eat real food but I did celebrate by nibbling a Reese's Peanut Butter cup. :-) He said with the amount of gum grafting I needed I was lucky they didn't do it the old fashion way (taking the skin off the roof of the mouth (OUCH)...instead, they use Avoderm (?) which is a graft they use on burn victims and such and is from cadavers. So now I have dead people in my mouth but they seem to be getting along fine in their new environment and luckily like beer as much as I do...and it was the dead people that wanted the Reeses, NOT ME. (anyone buying this?) This whole ordeal sure has taught me about grinding my teeth...once I'm allowed I will not avoid wearing my bite guard at night anymore to say the least.
So, next up the latest challenge...I can't wait. I got clearance to be able to do light exercise (like crunches and walking) and I am totally on the countdown to Mexico. I can't wait for the break and also need to get my butt to the tanning salon. If you can't tone it, tan it..right?
Hope all is having a pretty good week! I'm looking forward to putting this one in the books but plan on a peppy, more optimistic outlook come Monday! I guess we all have our days!

LOL! Or you can tone it as much as you can and tan it. I love the way I look with a tan, but I have too much family history of skin cancer to mess around with that. Good luck on resisting the temptations from the dead people. I really don't know if I could do that. Get better!

I love a tan too...but same thing, the cancer thing has hit personally, but I also know going to Mexico as white as I am, is begging for a nasty burn, so I just hit the tanning salons a little before my vacation or an event and settle with being pasty white the rest of the time.

That sounds like a good plan. I've gone a couple of times before summer if I have a camping trip coming up just so I won't burn. I just don't do the 20 minute sessions because then I would burn in the tanning bed and that defeats the purpose. LOL.

I am so with the tan fat looks better than white fat. Have soo much fun on vacation, I am happy for you. Periodontal work is no fun, my first experience, I felt like my teeth were sewn into my mouth and they were all loose... Hated it. Glad it is going good for you. Can you say dead people in my mouth with a strait face, I don't think I can. Stay positive and humerous - Stormi
Thank you, thank you, thank you... The first week rate was nothing like this weeks rate, but all things considered... I know he loves me and he's trying to be supportive.. The fries have not landeed in front of my plate since.. Now he's telling me he's proud of me :) *grin. I think I'll keep him.

You make me laugh! Don't let the dead people get there way to much! LOL. It makes me hungry for a PB cup! They are one of my favorites! Happy to hear you got "released"!! I was warned along time ago to go to the gym & work on toning (thank you Kellybo) but did I listen? NOT well enough! I will though! Hope you can start eating soon. It will make it easier to eat the right things! GO girl!

Put that Reese's DOWN!!! I suppose you're going to say that the dead people made you sit on the couch and watch TV all day, too. I suppose the dead people made you go fishing with your buddies all last weekend so you couldn't fix that leak in the kitchen sink? Wait....I think I got this mixed up with my "boyfriend" dialogue...oops...sorry!!!
