if you're starving yourself then you're not eating enough and if you don't eat enough your body stores everything which makes you put weight on rather than lose it

okay, I need to point out that your body cannot store excess energy that you're not eating so it won't start storing energy from eating too little. it could be water weight or even just a natural fluctuation in your weight. That said, if you're feeling starving all the time it becomes much more difficult to stick to your deficit. Maybe use an online calculator to work out your TDEE, and set a reasonable deficit based on that (500-1000 calories per day) you won't feel nearly as deprived, and your diet will be more sustainable.

Thanks :) I was advised by my GP as I maybe pre-diabetic and she advised to cut down to 1000 calories for 5 weeks to lose 10kg not that I’m overweight but to help with blood sugars etc. Thank you for your advice.

it really depends on when you weighed yourself.... a 0.1 increase could be scales themselves, I would not worry. amcq that's not quiet right, restrictions in calories could eventually slow metabolic rate, even thought I am not sure how true in reality with I.F. which can actually promote hormone increase and weightloss, but calories in/out will determine weight loss, this guy will lose Weight eventually. You may want to look in to Newcastle University work on reversing diabetes, for some guidance, as I think they published the full diet there.
