I'm really struggling to lose weight. I do water Zumba Monday, Aqua Tone Tuesday and Friday, and Water Aerobics Wednesday, and Chair Yoga Tuesdays and Thursday. Each for an hour and the 3 times a week, I walk for a mile+ in the walking pool. I had 2 knee replacements and a huge stomach hernia repaired by surgery 8 weeks ago. I eat less than 1600 calories now, before the surgery only 1400. I eat Mediterranean style. I'm stuck with 187. Sorry, I'm just venting. Any suggestions?

Drop down to 1200 for 14 days. If you see movement then you know. I had to go down substantially lower than that as my metabolism has some medical issues affecting it. Increase your water. Try not to eat after 6 pm focus on high quality Whole Foods, nothing processed. Good job on the exercise

Thank you so much!!!! I will try it! I do drink quite a lot of water and eat brunch after my exercises, around 11. Then something around 2pm if I'm hungry and dinner at 6:30/7pm. My doctor thinks it might be genetic, but I was always quite slim. Age does a big trick to us women. I feel that at almost 70 I take a breath and gained 3pound!😅🤣😂

Also my physical therapist strongly recommended eating one hour prior to exercise so you burn fat during and don’t lose muscle or something like that so I have a protein shake or protein muffin in the am prior to workout

I take meds for cholesterol, thyroid and blood pressure in the am, then I can't eat for an hour, and I'm not hungry, but a milkshake will be OK. Thanks again!!! Send me the bill! You are better then my Dr. and the nutritionist!

O wait, word of encouragement. Im about ten years younger (60 in 6 weeks) and am on literally no meds but hormone replacement therapy (no detectable testosterone nor estrogen otherwise). However, i was on thyroid meds for years, should have been on cholesterol but refused and had (unbeknownst to myself as i was mostly avoiding doc) sky high blood pressure which i found out thru multiple surgeries last year. Thought was from pain but nope was from diet. My thyroid is now functioning well enough i dont need meds, blood pressure is back to super healthy numbers and my cholesterol has come down dramatically tho still high. (Genetically so since a teenager who was skinny). My point being this change has 100% come from the past 12 months of changing my way of eating and getting more exercise. It is very freeing to not have to take meds. Im even off the meds for my pulmonary disease which im certain is from the 4-5 mile walks (currently doing 8-9 tho) improving my lung function. Also have not had a serious lung episode in over a year now, used to have them every few weeks. That is what came of losing 90 pounds, eating clean foods focused on high protein. Try to get at least 100 grams if you can. Hard for me due to caloric restrictions but protein shakes do help. Body fortress (sold at Walmart on line) gives you a big bang for the buck at 40 gm protein for 180 calories. Keep up the winning attitude and you will be so surprised where your health will go.

I have found time restricted feeding work specifically 16 hours no food at a time eating in just an 8 hour time frame and doin 30 minutes of exercise first thing in the morning. If you lift weights you will increase your muscle strength and you will naturally burn more calories. I wish you well!! 185 is my sticking point 😳

Yearofhealth2023, I also had many surgeries, I eat no fried, processed foods( well maybe sometimes Prosciutto with melon, delicious!) I'm a very good cook and Argentinean, we love meat and proteins, but I need my slice of bread! Today I checked and gain 1 pounds , I hope it's muscle 💪. Thanks again, have a great week!
