EmeraldEyes's Journal, 19 Jan 08

Four pounds since January 13, 2008. I guess I'm quite content with that.

Been an odd week with the scale, hence the decision to only stand on it, once a week, either Saturday or Sunday, a long with taking measurements. During the week it's up, than it's down. It could drive a person crazy.

This week, avoiding temptation is the key. And finding a way to get more dietary fiber into my diet. I feel like I'm lacking, well I know I am.

Approximately 20 pounds to go to hit the 10% mark.

Now here is my question, what is a healthy weight for someone 5'7, who has...well, I don't have a petite frame, I have swimmers *broad shoulders*...I'm thinking 125 is not a reasonable/healthy goal.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend.
Laura.

Well, I am 5'7" and my goal is 135. I figure I will see what I look like when I get there, and decide where to go from there. Your goal for yourself depends on alot of factors. I do alot of exercise and don't mind being a little heavier if it means a smaller size. Basically, take it one step at a time and decide as you go. Would you rather be 125lbs and a size 6 or 130lbs and a size 4? The scale is only one way to judge success. The more body fat you lose, the leaner you will be (and be able to fit into smaller sizes). You are doing great! Good luck!

4 lbs is a great accomplishment. You are wise, and have greater strength than me, to only weigh once a week. The scale can be our worst enemy at times! If you want to add more fibre to your diet, Fibre One cereal is one of the lowest POINT choices out there. One serving with 1/2 cup of milk is only 3 POINTS and you get something like 14 g of fibre (I am doing this from memory because I haven't eaten it in a little while!). All Bran Bars are also a good source of fibre and are only 2 POINTS. They make a great snack with a big glass of water. They really fill me up. And Fiber Sure is a tasteless powder that you can add to any liquid (it doesn't thicken like metamucel). I even add it to spaghetti sauce or soup to add some extra fibre. Depending on your age, my WW book says that a woman your height should weigh a minimum of 127 (for all adults) and a maximum of 147 for under 25 years, 153 for between 25 and 45 years, and a maximum for all adults of 159. So there is a good quite a big range there. You will know better what your weight should be when you get within that range. Your body will show you what is right for you.
