So it's been about a week I guess and I had a chance to talk with both my surgeon and nutritionist. They both were very encouraging!
My surgeon says that a 10k loss for the first month is average and that I should see about 3k each month from here on out. So about 16 more months to get to my goal. It seems like an eternity. He seemed surprised that I was angry about my loss but reassured me that every week I will get stronger and be able to eat a little more without getting nauseous, so that's something.
Five years ago I was at 95k so until I get past that mark I know I will have a hard time believing that this weight loss is "real". I've yo-yoed between 95 and 115 for 20 years so clearly I have some mental issues surrounding that weight.
This time I have 18 months of doctor, psychiatre, nutritionist and surgeon visits scheduled as support so I'm hopeful that between them I can figure out what my triggers or problem is and change those habits. It's a hopeful day today!
