going home this past weekend for the funeral, i realised that a great many people in my extended family are obese, not that borderline BMI obesity but the real "i can see it from a mile away" kind of obesity. coming from a small town in Limpopo, culturally weight is not a concern but after gaining this much interest in learning as much as i can about health, i can see its a problem.
its amazing how i have never really noticed until now. on the one hand i'm sad that no one really cares about it but on the other hand, I thank God that he opened my eyes to it while i'm still young and have the chance to take control and fall more in love with health and fitness.
i'm forever grateful and even more committed now!

Wow 260Dee1's - I can so relate , its really sad, but if your fam is like mine, I cant bother by trying to educate them anymore, they will just tell me oo life is too short to worry about food , you need to enjoy..

I can relate too! My family are all large people as well except for the younger ones who still have a chance. I am so grateful too that I started on a path of healthy living and exercise a few years ago - although I've had a relapse - I'm back on track again and more determined than ever to continue this way.

this is so encouraging to know that you are not alone in all this, makes one feel like being part of a common cause
