I have well and truly fallen off the wagon! I wrongly assumed that I’d be able to keep up the good habits on my own but slowly slowly spiralled back into the quick, unhealthy snacks and take aways. With the new school term starting and starting my own post-grad study, I’m time poor and exhausted, so ended up in the bad habits with bingeing netflix til late and not sleeping enough, reaching for the high sugar snacks as a pick-me-up, and with the cold weather settling in, i’ve been put off making salads and the like, getting into hibernating mood. But no more (hopefully)! I’ll do a proper weigh in tomorrow, and restart my journey to good health🤞🏼. Please help me stay motivated! 🙏

Thank you for the support Nadia! You are right, and I would normally be so critical of myself but I am trying to be kinder to myself and remind myself to celebrate the fact that I am even making the effort to try again - as should you! We got this! 💪🏼

looking back over many years of trying everything I have always lost weight and thought had cracked it for good..... never happened because its gone back on again. I hope it won't happen again but unless I find a different way of going on it probably will return. so this time I am approaching it not just to lose weight but really truthfully to eat healthily. I mustn't clog up arteries and put heart under pressure and ruin digestion etc etc. second major difference is to be more wise about having treats or a bad day. one swallow doesn't make a summer and one swallow of chocolate won't put pounds on so when it happens I am trying hard to just accept it's not the end of the world, start again straight away or at worst tomorrow. so this is almost 40, settle down into kindness to yourself and keep bolstering that motivation. find the lowest calorie treats so damage is limited and most of all believe in yourself, you can do it to be better, healthier and hopefully happier. we are all on this crazy, difficult journey together. knowing you are working hard at it, like we all are, is so supportive. we need each other. keep us posted!!!

Ahhhhh same here that late night snacking and thinking about making two separate meals one for my family and one for my self , sometimes demotivate me but i keep pushing myself and start from zero again and again. I am sure you will do good. Lets motivate each other. 👍 👍 👍 👍 GOOD LUCK dear 🥰

Thanks Jennie you are right we definitely should be looking at health vs weight loss. I tried to set myself small goals to keep it more manageable, more protein and less sugar so I’m trying to take the slow and steady approach. But I also need to remember to get enough sleep and try to exercise, which I struggle to prioritise over all the other stuff life throws my way, and that in turn increases the tiredness, which leads to cravings and quick fixes! 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I definitely need to be looking at more than just food. Going to bed early is such a simple thing to do, yet so difficult when I crave some wind down time after the kids have gone to bed!

Thank you Shafaq, I’ve stopped making two separate meals now. It’s too much effort and energy and if they dont get eaten it’s even more frustrating. Now they eat what I give them or wait until the next meal! 🤷🏻‍♀️

'Hibernation mode' is a concept created by years of culture & media -- there's nothing wrong with eating a light meal / fresh salad (+ whatever you want to have with it) whether it's light outside or dark outside 🤷
