I committed to a vegan diet on July 1st - testing it out for six months. Here’s a sampling of what I’ve eaten so far. Why? Terrible perimenopause symptoms and I’d rather modify my diet than medicate if possible.

I’ve been a pescatarian for years and love eggs and fish, so I’m surprised by the ease of transition. It’s too early to declare that it’s helping me, but I’m all in if it does!

Everything looks tasty. Maybe you have a future as a chef. 😊

careful with that. if you have too much tofu it messes with your hormones. i tried going vegan and couldn't. i got break outs so badly from the tofu. face, hands, arms. awful. i try to stay as vegetarian as possible, but unfortunately with my medical conditions, i need to eat animal protein . good luck dear! 🤞

You'd have to eat an awful lot of tofu to have it effect hormones to a significant degree, although some people do have soy allergies or sensitivities. Champion soy eater here with never a problem. That said, good luck with it! Although I'm pescetarian these days, I lost significant weight going nearly vegan, and I felt really good. Getting adequate nutrition can take a little more thought, but it's more than doable. Definitely take a B12 supplement. You might check out the Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen app. It's a checklist of recommended stuff to include in a WFPB diet

Thank you writingwyo! I will definitely check it out. It’s been a really good couple of weeks and I have learned a ton. I feel pretty good overall, except it has become glaringly apparent to me that I need to eliminate alcohol from my diet. (Duh!) I thought I could have a glass of wine here and there, maybe a mimosa, but I feel like crap if I do. I think cutting out everything else inflammatory from my diet really highlighted how poorly alcohol affects my body. It’s poison.

@writingwyo. Yup. It effects me. I hate it. My husband and I love tofu. I have a ton of food allergies and have to watch the soy intake. 😭
