Today has been an ok day. I am feeling like pure crap from this cold and can't seem to kick this awful sinus headache. One of those days you just want to crawl in bed and sleep til it is over. But I have an 11 month old and a 4 year old to keep me from hibernating..and if that is not enough, my husband is on his way home from getting all 4 wisdom teeth extracted!! FUN!!! And him being under the weather is usually the equivalent of about 3 kids to care for!! So, that is my day. he is doing south beach too and on phase 2, so any suggestions as to what I can feed him that wouldn't be too bad for the diet, I will recieve with open arms. I just made some SF pudding and have all natural applesauce. Oh and chicen broth. Other than that, i have kind of drawn a blank. he won't be able to chew. I know when I had mine taken out in high school, I lived on mashed potatoes and milk shakes for a few days. I don't think he will want to go that route.

Fat free or lite yogurts are good too. :0) NO straws though, I'm sure they'll tell him that. Nothing too hot or too bubbly, either... they can dislodge the clots and cause a dry socket... not fun. I totally understand about being sick, dealing with kids and then a sick/healing hubby... phew! That's a handful!! Drink some tea and have some soup with him! Good luck!

Wow.. hang in there, I hope you feel better, and the hub too. I cant think of anything to eat that wouldnt be sweet except for a cauliflower shake! What about the mashed cauliflower? SF jello? SF ice cream shakes with bananas? Hope that helps...

BT, when you say bubbly, do you mean like carbonated? no diet sodas? I have been wanting to try a hot tea..do you recommend any certain kind? Going to run in the grocery store while my daughter is at dance and pick up a few things for him.

Ouch! I'm sorry you're under the weather, and I feel for your husband; I had 3 wisdoms cut out, 2 bone grafts done and tissue grafts at the same time. I'm trying to think what I ate...I think soups and eggs and of course ice cream :)

He might not want anything today! I know my mouth tasted so full of blood when I had ONE tooth pulled, I didn't want to eat anything the first day. Poor guy, and poor you, gee, what a lot going on at once huh? Hang in there, we're thinking of you!

I found what was the most filling for me was bean soup put in the blender. Couldn't eat it hot, had to be about room temp, but it was good and filling. I was on liquids for a while with bone spurs in my mouth.

I think the chicken broth you mentioned might be the best for both of you, but, the wisdom teeth may be a bit difficult in the short term. Try to keep calm, you will both be better shortly.

Right! No carbonated beverages or really hot things for hubby. Chicken broth is good, as long as it's not too hot. SF puddings are good, yogurts, scrambled eggs, tomato soup ~ maybe, a bean soup... OH the chicken and lentils recipe or the pork one, will both mash up easily and be filling and satisfying. :) Good luck! Email me with anymore questions, anytime. :)
