I have been on SB for 1 week and have only lost 1 pound!!!!! Shouldn't I have lost more than that?!?!?! I have followed it religiously and even worked out a couple of times. Suggestions???

I had the same history. After 4 weeks I probably lost 2 pounds or 3, and it could have been 5 weeks. 1-I suggest you be patient. NOT EVERYONE loses lots of weight in the beginning. I am a slow loser, but losing all the same. Some people on this site lose every single week, I on the other hand drop after remaining still for a few weeks. Everybody is different. Are you entering what you eat into the food diary on the site? If so, the diary is broken down (by each food eaten) into the amount of fat, carbs and protein and calories that you eat daily (It adds up all the individual foods you eat). That way you will get a pretty good idea of how much fat, (should be about 30% of your total calories per day, and I have read that the amount of protein and carbohydrates should be the same; each about 40% of your total calories. If this is confusing, you can put this off until a bit later, and just continue following as you are because it WILL come off if you are following the basic rules. Are you using the book? Don't worry, believe me when I say the weight loss can be slow, but it stays off and it accumulates and after many weeks you see a significant number. Stick with it.

Don't be frustrated... everyone is different!! I didn't lose like they say the first few weeks, either. It could be that extra salt is causing you to retain water or many other things... please journal your foods and activities for us to be able to help you more. Are you getting all of your water in? How many servings of veggies are you getting? Let us know and don't give up!! Some of us just take a bit longer for the scales to move! :)

I only lost 2-3lbs. during those first two weeks. I had heard you could lose up to 8, so I thought for sure that would happen. It was disappointing, but I felt so good that it really helped. You really do break the cravings for sugar and carbs during that time. Keep at it!
