Just ate too many nuts - but as far as dietary sins I guess that is not to bad. I will just run more tonight.
I also read a very interesting article on CNN that referenced a NIH study regarding sugar. The study points to the fructose component of sugar as being particular bad for our health. I have never been on the ban all High Fructose Corn Syrup bandwagon, but reading this article makes you stop and think. My diabetes also makes me think that maybe if I had not eaten so much sugar in the past that I would be much better off. Regardless of your stance on High Fructose Corn Syrup, I think most here would agree that the less the sugar the better. The article and study (that I will try and post links for below) just give me one more reason to avoid sugar for me and my family.

On a happier note - tonight is a run night and the weather has cooled somewhat in Texas.
Have a great evening - keep doing the right things

Yesterday was good and a little bit of a challenge. I ate too many calories at breakfast & lunch, so I had to really restrict my dinner. I was mostly successful, I ended up over by about 85 cal.
I got another run/walk of about 42 minutes. That is really beginning to feel good and is a great stress relief. I am just anxious to get back to the form (weight) I was in last year. I want to be able to hold a steady slow jog for an hour. I am a LONG way from that.
No obvious obstacles today. The big bowl of Halloween candy from yesterday is now a medium bowl. I hope all the 20 somethings at work polish it off today. Then I won't have to look at it.
Y'all have a great day. Keep making good decisions. You CAN do this. We are stronger than the food.

This week continues to go well.
Last night was a success, luckily we live in rural area so no "trick or treaters" which meant no big bowl of candy sitting around the house. I was tired so I went to bed early which also helped avoid temptation - you can't eat if you are asleep.
Someone brought to work all the candy they did not give away (big big bowl), need to keep full on water, fruits, and nuts in order to avoid. I am confident.
Tonight is a run a night and I am beginning to look forward to those again. My pace is abysmal, put that is not really the point. I will get back to being able to run multiple miles and the pace will pick up. The whole point now is burning calories and controlling blood sugar.
Y'all have a great day.

I had a great weekend. First, I was successful staying on my diet plan (calories and carbs). Second, My daughter ran a personal best in her regional cross country meet - their team missed going to state by one place. The team got 5th, top 4 go to state. I got in to exercise sessions (Friday night and Sunday morning). I lost two pounds on my Sunday weigh-in. Things are beginning to fall back into line. 1.5 more weeks and I should be back in my groove.
Diabetes doctor is already happy with the progress. She wants me to NOT fill the prescription she wrote and just finish the samples she gave me. We will re-evaluate then and she is confident we can go back to a single medicine at a lower dose.
Family made sugar cookies last night and I resisted (I had a bite of one - literally to taste test).
I'm looking forward to the week and continuing the success.
Y'all have a great day.
