I was banting - no starch and no sugar - meat and lots of veggies - did not even have small portions - had no carbs all week and had lots of water
close to 3 litres of water per day

Cutting carbs definitely works. Don't go too heavy on the portions though, anything in excess can't be good even water!!

Yes I have heard that you need to calculate how much water to drink based on your weight - so will check and watch my portions.
Are you also banting Sthesh?

I'm not banting but I've cut out added sugars and limit carbs to only 3tbsp of rice, weetbix in the AM, starchy veges like butternut or corn. I had 1 baby potato yesterday with a spoon of rice, veges and meat. I want to lose weight while enjoying the carbs I like but in moderation. It also depends on the day and what's available. So far I've lost 3kg in the last two weeks and I'm happy with that.
