omigosh, so I am seriously counting calories now. I have a recipe counter that If I don't know how much is in it, I don't eat it (I'm pretty sure I'm going to drive my husband crazy for a little while)

I have to tell you I'm surprised by a couple of things, number 1: how fast that needle on my home scale is moving in the right direction, and number 2, how much the things I don't think much of are!

for example, I found this recipe that my mom and I made years ago, loaded with veggies and it seemed really good, so I made it. then I ran it through my calorie counter, for one serving (which I would normally eat 2) is more than 325 calories!! that means I had been eating 600 calories every time I ate!! That's nuts! not to mention all the coke I would be having with it!

but I have been very proud of myself. I've had no mess ups, but I'm nervous with Halloween coming we'll have to see what happens over the next couple of days. I'm hoping the exercise I get balances out the candy I may or may not be eating. (again, I will be checking on calories and writing everything down..)

My Elbows touched!

You know that exercise you do to stretch your back and shoulders, making muscle-man arms and then pulling them together across your chest? well, I've been doing that with my Leslie Sansone DVDs. I love it, I can really feel it in my shoulders like for days afterward. anyway, I've been trying to stretch and work out as much as I can and the other day my elbows touched when I was doing it.
Now it's very much like trying to touch your toes and suddenly being able to do it.
Well, it startled me so much I had no idea what to do with myself. I kept exercising but I became so flushed it was quite bazaar. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I did the same exercise today and was shocked to have repeated the results! My elbows touched!
I've been elated almost all day that I don't care about anything else! it's very inspiring to have something you were working towards happen when you least expect it! (just wait until I can touch my toes, I'm going to have a freakin' party!)

Skinny vibes to all
~Ruthi
