06 January 2018

Here we are only a few days into January 2018. I am feeling extra confident, and I sincerely hope to maintain this bubbly feeling of success. Yes, I am still obese. I don't know if I can ever lose that label, but if not, I will die trying.

I am 2 lbs from the lowest weight loss level I have had in decades. A couple of years before cancer, I did use Metafast, and I dropped to 212. This morning I am at 214. I didn't gain during the holiday season. That is an achievement in and of itself.

I have been super busy. It is important not to add extra stress to the mix--that shuts down weight loss. Therefore, I have taken a somewhat new approach to my Keto lifestyle. I am not counting anything. I just have some foods that satisfy and work for me. I eat them as I choose and I have not been keeping a food journal. I think I have been able to use this approach because I am absolutely serious about losing the weight--especially the belly flab. I need to buy a new set of jeans today or tomorrow. That is something to be happy about and proof that not only is the scale going down (a miracle for me) but the approach is working. My husband jokingly says I could wear suspenders. I give him the look--the one that says I am never wearing suspenders. Anyhow, I cannot say this would be the recommended approach for someone else. I cannot say it will be a lasting one for me either, but for now, it is working. (Hurrah!)

I am positive the Massage Therapist will be shocked when he sees me again next week. It will have been a month, and I am down two sizes plus the weight. It matters the most what I think though. Still having encouragement is always important, don't you agree?

The losing of the belly fat is vital for my health. My cancer is directly tied to hormones. The more fat, the more hormone activity. Then too--there is the fat buildup that makes your heart work hard and affects your liver and other vital organs. It puts a undo strain on not only your joints but every system of the body is affected. I will never be size three again--except maybe in a pine box. I don't care about being willowy thin. Honestly, I do not believe that being that skinny is a healthy choice for me. This journey is about looking good, feeling good, and my health.

Oh, do you wonder what I have eaten? OMG A couple of nights ago we had sweet n sour pork steak -- I made the sauce using Golden Monk Sugar. On the side we had Smashed Brussel Sprouts--they are topped with Parmesan Cheese and Mozzarella. I allowed myself six. I also have made some tasty bacon wrap green chillis. The chillis are stuffed with pepper cheese and wrapped in the bacon and baked until crisp. They can be eaten cold or heated. For a treat--a few walnuts nibbled, a few dark chocolate morsels, and I have the frozen Keto Cheese Cake Muffins. Then I enjoy the morning cup of joe--a Fatty Coffee Mixture (which contains coconut oil, MTC oil, Grass Fed Butter, Heavy Cream, and Stevia). It holds me and burns fat. Oh, and I forgot--I also have made peanut butter cookies (natural peanut butter without any sugar, erythritol, and eggs). I use the Coturnix Quail Eggs which we have in abundance--three to one regular egg.

Well--you get the idea. I am happy with how things are going now. I feel blessed and I love being smaller-sized even if I have not reached my ultimate goal.
