Well, this weekend was kinda shot. Mostly, it was my fault for not getting my homework done sooner, but the stress of everything, (not to mention the fact that I was running of of like 4 hours of sleep), didn't make my self control very strong. I feel kinda gross today, but I'm thinking it's because it's a Monday, I haven't been eating well, and I probably still need more sleep. I'm hoping the fog will lift tomorrow! I've been eating pretty well today, so I'm hoping I can keep it up!
I'm planning on working out today, so that's good! A few extra calories burned!! Hopefully I'll get a little bit of strength workout in too. My ankles not hurting as much, but it still hurts. I've been wrapping it and applying heat every now and again. I'll probably try icing it today :)

Well, I have some bad news. I called my doctor yesterday to talk about my ankle, and from how I described the pain and my symptoms, she is fairly confident that it is a sprain. What that means for me: she told me strictly no running and no jumping around, but I can walk. Needless to say, I'm really upset about this. Then again, it seems like my workout buddy and I are quite literally falling apart (I have ankle and back issues, and she has knee and back issues), so it's probably better for both of us to limit our leg work until our various sprains have healed. Still, I'm supposed to not run or do anything like that for 4 weeks???? It's going to be really hard to stay motivated when I can't do the intense workouts that I love :(
However, there is some good news. My workout buddy and I have been working out together for a while now, and we have built up a collection of DVD's that gives us some variety. We've also decided that we're going to do a lot of ab work instead. I was looking for other solutions to working out, and they mention online that you can swim (which I've tried to do before, and that DOES bother my ankle), and we can bike, and we can also do upper body cardio (like karate or kenpo) and just not to the leg portions. So, we do have options. Though, we're really going to have to start watching what we eat since I think it is virtually impossible to achieve the 800-1000 calorie workouts we're used to.
Does anyone else have any advice on possible workouts? My ankle has been sprained on and off for like a year, and I really want to let it heal this time, but I also want to give up on working out completely. I also have considered yoga (since it's not high impact) but my workout buddy isn't a fan of yoga and I don't want to force that on her (especially since that might give her discomfort in her knee).

You ever have 'one of those days?' I feel like this week has been a whole stretch of those days. All I want to do is curl up in a ball with a pint of Ben and Jerry's and just wait for it to be over. I don't know what I did, but one of these past few days, I must have done something to my ankle, and it feels freshly sprained. Now I'm conflicted, because I really want to work out, but I feel like any workout I do is going to kill my ankle. Also, work and school are really stressing me out, and I know that eating a whole pint of ice cream isn't really going to make me happy, but old habits die hard. I'm going to do my best to work out today and try to eat healthy. Maybe my ankle is strangely connected to how I'm eating, and the past couple of days it's been bothering me so I've been a little depressed and haven't been eating the best. Here's to hoping good eating will help my ankle!

Well, I was naughty yesterday and indulged in some ice cream. I feel more in control today, though, and that's probably because I pushed myself in Kenpo yesterday. I find that it's the days where I don't workout that I tend to lose my momentum, so I'm going to have to make double sure that I workout this weekend and keep everything going! (the last two weekends have had too much stuff planned for me to be able to work out, but this weekend I should be mostly free) I've been eating well today so far, and I'm going to try and reduce my calories a bit today since I know the workout I'm doing isn't really going to burn that much in the way of calories (Cardio Abs = 15 mins of intense ab work, but it's only 15 mins).

Well, I'm back from my weekend of fun, and I only gained 0.4 lbs, which should come off lightning fast :D I had a great time seeing my family, but, as always, the weekend was too short and now I'm back to it. I also managed to stress my back and ankle a bit this weekend. My back is feeling way better than it did on Saturday, but I'm still going to watch it. My ankle is still hurting, but today is Kenpo X day, so it shouldn't be too hard on my ankle and I'll wear an ankle brace to make sure I don't twist it again. I've been wearing the brace for a couple of days now, but I think my ankle just needs to heal. I'll also try to do some epson salt soaks today to see if that helps!
I have a really good feeling about this week! It's going to be busy as anything, but I'm excited about the workouts, and I'm planning on getting a lot done around the house. My room is an absolute mess (normally it's a mess, but now I'm like 'HOLY CANNOLI I CAN'T SEE MY FLOOR!'), and I'm going to take some time tomorrow and clean it (today is homework day!). It's especially important that I clean it though, since I don't want to twist my ankle just by walking around!
T-minus 4 weeks before I got partying with a close friend and I wanna look HOT :D Here goes nothing!
